Dave piloting his plane during a stunning sunset in Carlsbad.
Oops! I added these photos and never finished the post…. I was too busy traveling to Minnesota.
Pardon this mishmash of events!

Saw 3 of these in one evening!
One Saturday evening we went out for supper and took a beautiful walk on the Santa Rosa Plateau.  I had been here in the spring when it was all green from the winter rains. Now it is a stunning golden brown.

A very old tree with some younger folks underneath it.

You recognize this group….. our Thursday AM walking group went to the coast to walk for a change of pace.
Well I finally saw my first rattlesnake on a walk with Jane!  Jane interrupted his/her sun bathing when she screamed because she almost stepped on it!

These lovely ladies- Jeannie and her daughter Karissa share a birthday. So we had a small luncheon party to celebrate turning 40 and 3.

A special Friday evening with old friends and new friends.  Ron and Videll used to live in Waukesha also.  They babysat our boys and we met in their home on Sunday mornings. Now they live in Phoenix and come to visit their relatives that live in Fallbrook part time- Duane and Verla.  Carol is their cousin who lives just north of us.

We took our friends John and Julie to our favorite dining spot and stayed to enjoy the sunset.

Sad day- saying goodbye to our friends who moved to Caldwell, ID.  Probably a great move for them but we will miss them greatly.

Madeline- Thanks for coming to visit us!

We had some very fun visitors from "Wiscaosin" ( said with our "accent"). Miss Madeline came to visit and brought her parents with her.  She had been to see Mickey already and was ready to paint the town in San Diego. Madeline is 11 months old and a total riot! If she is not sleeping she is busy….. her first job was to organize our coffee table.  She is a minimalist - she apparently felt that the table looked best without anything on it- away with the magazines, pens, laptop, Bibles and newspapers! Such a look of innocence…..

Laughing uproariously at Blake's book.

We spent half a day at Carlsbad Beach so Madeline could model her swimsuit.  Her she is with her mom and dad- Betty and Blake.

She splashed in the cold Pacific a bit….

Her dad braved the awesome waves to do a little boogie boarding.

When she wasn't eating sand she was climbing and showing off her balancing skills.

Enjoying their corn!

Resting up for her next adventure

A gorgeous day at Torrey Pines Glideport

We quite enjoy CA as you can tell!

Picture perfect day

The highest lifeguard tower- 360 feet above the surf.

Madeline laughing at a joke perhaps??? It was hat slapping good!

San Diego harbor. Us in a pedicab in front of "Luna"- one of the largest yachts in the world.

Looking back at San Diego from the Coronado Ferry Landing
Thus ended our wonderful time with the Lewis family.  Great to see our cousins/friends and share a bit of our new life with them.  Can you believe we have been on the west coast for 18 months already?!
