A great Dad that I know!

In honor of Father's Day I want to focus on the present and not the past.... so here is a wonderful father .  Dave has always been there for his sons through thick and thin, through good times and not such great times. He is a solid rock upon which they can depend. He is patient, wise, loving, humble and easily embarrassed so I best stop now!
He taught them so many things including the love of camping even when it is so cold that you have to wear a winter hat and long underwear!

Dave was there for Shane when he was born 8 weeks early ( preemie sleeper he wore home form the hospital).  He sat up nights with his sick boys.

Dave was a "grandpa" to our friend's children when they moved here from India.

Dave plays games with the kids even when they keep beating him.  He warmly welcomed this "daughter"  into our family when Shane fell in love with her. And anything Nikelle wants Dave gladly does!

Dave fully supported both of our son's decision to attend college.  Here is Tristan ( our Architect) explaining his project.

And encouraged Shane in his pursuit of even higher schooling.  Our Nurse Anesthetist.

Taught them how to grill!

Spent quality time with them.

Dave has worked steadily and hard all these years to support them. I know this doesn't look like work but he was working from the camper!

And like I said before- he will do anything for Nikelle including climbing trees!

Dave loved these boys even more as they grew into adults and called for advice on many subjects.

Dave put up with and even liked all the various pets that Tristan brought home.

Graduations are especially rewarding to the parents!

Last Father's Day- Shane was present only via photo!

Dave taught the boys how to nap any where, any time!

Dave instilled a love of hunting and fishing- especially in Tristan.

Supporting Shane in his running of a marathon.

Another Father's Day- with his lovely daughter!

Dave is an example to his sons in how to love and serve God.

Taught them how to cook over a fire....

And how to cook over the fire in the rain!

Another example of Dave's honorary "grandpa" abilities.

I could go on and on but you get the picture..... love you Dave!
