We will meet you half way….

Who knew that Colorado would become the halfway point for meeting our children?  When we lived in Wisconsin we would often travel to CO via car.  A few times we flew which was a mistake because it spoils you.  Several months ago we made plans to meet in CO- 1000+ miles later we were there.
On our way out of CA we met this cousin for supper.  We had hoped to see them in CO but they were vacationing in CA!   Beth grew up in WI/IN and her father is my first cousin. We are off a generation since she is only 4 years younger than me.   A very nice but too short visit.

Beth and Jerry- Happy 30th Anniversary!

The scenery is quite different when you travel EAST to CO rather than WEST across the prairies and farmlands of IA/NE

After an overnight stop north of Las Vegas we finally arrived in CO.

We stopped for a dip in Glenwood Springs since we had some time to kill before we picked Tristan up at the airport.

Still some dirty snowbanks on the ski slopes
We arrived at my Scott and Lynette's very early in the AM on Thursday since Tristan's plane was delayed 3 hours!  This lovely "B&B" is run by my cousin and is right down the road from Elizabeth Convention.  They graciously open their home to us rellies.  We had  wonderful days of fellowship and lots of  animated conversations catching up with our friends and relatives.  This convention feels like home to us since we have been there several times and know so many people.  And a reunion of the relatives is always great :)  These four cuties pictured next are the grandchildren of my double cousin Ron.  Their parents used to live in WI but now reside in CO.

We finished the 4th by attending a Rockies game…. we had nosebleed seats which were perfect for the fireworks!

Very early Friday morning we said our good byes.  We headed west and the kids headed east- back to our places.  Wonderful days but always too short. Our stopping point 12 hours later was at our Vegas friends for the evening.  Kathy and Ron- friends from long ago…. back when we all lived in the Midwest!    Another adventure over- looking forward already to our next visit with our kids!
